The only person who can stop a bad guy with a howitzer is a good guy with a howitzer

Unless said bad guy steals your howitzer and shoots at you from twenty miles away.

Which is, more or less, what ISIS intends to do.

The group is now firmly entrenched in their holdings and the Iraqi military, as before, is reluctant (or unable) to launch an offensive against them. The 52 American-made and supplied M198 155mm howitzers they captured ought to come in handy; they can park them up to 25 miles away from Baghdad and shell the city with pinpoint accuracy, thanks to the M982 Excalibur GPS-guided 155mm artillery shells they also happened upon in the pillaging.

Meanwhile, Darth Cheney appeared on CNN (for some reason) to talk about Iraq (for some reason) and whether or not Obama should be impeached (for some reason). Throwing etiquette out the window (former presidents/vice-presidents traditionally do not comment on the sitting administration), he winced and grimaced his way through a histrionic appraisal of President Barack Obama:

“I’m not prepared at this point to call for the impeachment of the President,” Cheney said in an interview with CNN’s “The Lead with Jake Tapper.”

Cheney believes Obama is “the worst president of my lifetime” and that “Jimmy Carter might have been a better President,”

Why is that? Well, because “we made good decisions in Iraq”, says Cheney. When the Bush Administration left office in 2008 “Iraq was in good shape”. We killed Abu Masub al-Zarqawi, drove Al Qaeda into Syria (and a lot of good that did). Now that we have pulled our troops out of Iraq — eight years after the initial invasion in 2003 — Al Qaeda has re-entered Iraq under the name ISIS and is really fucking shit up.

Jack Tapper, though, really brought Cheney to task on the issue, asking “Why the fuck were we even in Iraq to begin with, you crusty old fuck? Because you fucking lied, maybe?”

Oh, wait. No, he didn’t.

Good job, CNN.
